The Octagon Fuel Cell
We served as the prime contractor responsible for the installation of a cogen plant on behalf of UTC Power in this unique landmark in the heart of Roosevelt Island. The Octagon is a 500-unit apartment residence certified as a LEED Silver. This project made history as the first fuel cell to power a residential building in New York City.
We were responsible for the complete installation of the 400kW combined heat and power (CHP) fuel cell. The fuel cell’s process heat is captured to satisfy the building’s space heating and domestic water requirements.
